Rainbow Mountain Tour

  Before my trip to Peru I was looking for atv tours but they all seemed to be from Cusco but we were staying in Urubamba. I contacted Samuel on whatsapp... read more and he promptly responded that it would be no problem to pick us up from our hotel in Urubamba.

We started with the half day tour to the Maras salt mines and Moray. The archeological sites were great but the second half of the atv tour was stunning. It was a beautiful bluebird day with huge puffy white clouds against a bright blue sky. We were there in the rainy season and the landscape was bright green fields and yellow flowers. It was my absolute favorite part of the trip.

We then expressed an interest in going to Ollantaytambo. We had planned to go in taxi on our own but having Samuel as a guide made the experience 1000x better. He was very good about going at the pace of the slower person (me!) and we took breaks going up to the top.

Caution: I wore a tshirt on the atv tour and only put sunscreen on my face. Too late I realized, I had a wicked sunburn on my forearms. Don’t forget to put sunscreen on any exposed skin.

I highly recommend Samuel, have an excellent time in the Sacred Valley.

Then we finished with a short textile demonstration in Chinchero before heading back to Cusco. Samuel was awesome all the way, describing the land and his family’s places, local history, he even took helped us transfer our luggage to our new hotel! Don’t hesitate if you want to book this tour. It was just the 2 of us, the group sizes can vary, so it was VIP for us. Recommended!

Una vez llegamos a las cuatrimotos, el instructor nos enseñó a manejarlas dando varias vueltas en un circuito cerrado y una vez las manejábamos con soltura, salimos camino a Moray.

La experiencia es 100% recomendable, porque en Maras y Moray no hay mucho para hacer y ver. Por lo que conviertes la visita en una aventura.

El tour consiste en ir a Moray, estar ahí una media hora (el instructor te explica brevemente que es Moray) y volver al circuito en cuatrimoto. Después te llevan en coche a las Salineras y un guía te explica el proceso de la producción de la sal.

Una vez terminas en salineras te llevan al zipline que es bastante divertido. Te lanzas por 3 tirolinas y finalizas sobre las 3-4 de la tarde.

Nosotros salimos muy contentos.

You go through these farm land cities and have the choice to see lakes, Morray, and salt mines. We chose a lake and salt mine. Highly recommend the same thing!!
